Rachel V. Whisler founded RVPottery in 2015 with a clear goal: to craft handmade dinnerware that is as functional as it is beautiful—designed to be used and cherished every day. Rooted in Southern heritage and tradition, Rachel’s work honors the culture of hospitality and community, whether it’s part of a family dinner at home or presented on the table at a celebrated Southern restaurant. As the founder and sole potter behind RVPottery, Rachel personally brings each piece to life. She began selling her ceramics while studying at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and her work quickly gained recognition for its elegant simplicity and utility. From shaping and trimming clay to developing proprietary glaze formulas, every detail is a reflection of her artistic vision and deep respect for craftsmanship. Her work for renowned Southern chef Sean Brock further highlights her commitment to creating pieces that complement and celebrate Southern cuisine. Rachel finds joy in seeing her pottery in use—shared by customers and chefs alike—and treasures the role her art plays in bringing people together around the table.
