Craftsman Profile

Smithey Ironware

Isaac Morton started out as a collector of
vintage cookware. Eventually he decided
to apply his knowledge of 19th and early 20th
century cast iron to develop his own line of
pans, but leveraging modern forging technology
to make them lighter, easier to care for, and
machined with a smoother, more “non-stick”
cooking surface. The resulting cookware is
beautiful, functional, and nearly indestructable.

Here is what the food press has been saying about Smithey's cast iron cookware

If you’re looking for a carbon-steel skillet that is both high performing and good-looking displayed on your stove top—or hanging on your pot rail—then we suggest this gorgeous hand-forged pan from Smithey.

Smithey's hand-forged carbon steel skillets are stunning pieces of cookware that are just waiting to become family heirlooms or impressive gifts for your favorite home chef...each pan is handmade and completely unique.

A beautiful artisan-made pan, this broad, shallow skillet is hand-crafted in South Carolina and preseasoned to a golden brown. It was ready to use right out of the box—an egg fried in a teaspoon of butter slid around the pan
