Special Edition Live Oak-Handled Oyster Knife

Sale price$179.00

Join or Die's oyster knife brings Lowcountry traditions to life.

Hand-forged oyster knives with handles from a 300-year-old tree that fell recently in Savannah's McCauley Park.  The tree was a beloved playground for the kids at the neighboring school, and was nicknamed "Betty White".

These reclaimed live oak handles were stabilized and buffed out to bring out the grain character. Each knife is finished with a brass guard and mosaic pins.  The heavy steel blade will make quick work of any oyster.

As Seen In...

A mark of a handmade knife is hand sanding those scratches (produced by grinding the edge) away and leaving a finish with sanding lines that go parallel to the knife's blade. Its a detail that can't be mass-produced.
