Smithey Ironware

Isaac Morton started out as a collector of
vintage cookware. Eventually he decided
to apply his knowledge of 19th and early 20th
century cast iron to develop his own line of
pans, but leveraging modern forging technology
to make them lighter, easier to care for, and
machined with a smoother, more “non-stick”
cooking surface. The resulting cookware is
beautiful, functional, and nearly indestructable.

Caring for Carbon Steel

Do I need to season my new pan?

Your Smithey pan comes pre-seasoned with oil, so when you take it out of the box just wipe it down with a damp cloth before use.

Why does a pan need seasoning?

This is what gives it much of its non-stick qualities. It also prevents rust over time.

How do I clean it?

Dont put it in the dishwasher. Avoid abrasive materials like steel wool. Use minimal soap. Dry very thoroughly and rub with a light coat of oil.
