Can I clean this knife in the dishwasher?

You really shouldn't put ANY wooden-handled knife in the dishwasher, as the humidity will harm the wood over time. A warm, soapy sponge works best.

How do I keep the knife from getting dull?

Use a cutting board, as it is easier on the knife edge. Also, use a knife block rather than having the knife rattle around in a drawer.

Once it grows dull, how best to sharpen it?

A sharpening stone is best, though it takes a little practice. You can also opt for an electric sharpener or let a professional sharpen it for you.
