Hand-Forged Oyster Knife

Sale price$189.00

Join or Die's oyster knife brings Lowcountry traditions to life

Brent Stubblefield forges these in Richmond. The blade is the same on all three — Nitro-V stainless, heavy enough to make quick work of a bushel, finished with a brass guard and mosaic pins.

The handles are where they differ.

Bourbon Barrel — staves from spent casks, the oak gone dark from years of aging and the char on the inside.

Tobacco Barn — red oak pulled from a hundred-year-old barn standing on Brent's own property in Virginia, stained with leather dye to bring up the grain.

Black Walnut — figured walnut, finished silky smooth.

Three handles, all of it wood that was headed somewhere else.

Also Seen In...

A mark of a handmade knife is hand sanding those scratches (produced by grinding the edge) away and leaving a finish with sanding lines that go parallel to the knife's blade. Its a detail that can't be mass-produced.

Join or Die is a small shop and a custom knife maker dedicated to creating handmade knives that are cut above the rest. They make custom handmade knives to fit any need from the field to kitchen or just an everyday carry.
