Smithey Ironware

Isaac Morton started out as a collector of
vintage cookware. Eventually he decided
to apply his knowledge of 19th and early 20th
century cast iron to develop his own line of
pans, but leveraging modern forging technology
to make them lighter, easier to care for, and
machined with a smoother, more “non-stick”
cooking surface. The resulting cookware is
beautiful, functional, and nearly indestructable.

The Smithey wok came pre-seasoned, was easy to clean, and lost none of its factory seasoning during testing. It had excellent heat transfer, producing beautifully crisped yet tender fried rice.

Smithey is high tech- low tech. They have evolved the idea of cast iron into a best in class cook wear. It’s rare when unrealistically high expectations can be met or exceeded, particularly when it comes to cookware.

The entire thing is hand-forged, and it has an arched carbon-steel handle that manages to stay cool to the touch (even when cooking on very high heat) as well as a helper handle.
