Ancesserie's lovely, hand-calligraphed place cards are the perfect finishing touch for the table. The calligraphic, flourishing artwork is created by their talented on-site calligrapher. A plate is then crafted from the original artwork. Each card is letterpress printed in Onyx Black ink. As these are packaged with matching little envelopes they also make beautiful gift enclosures and calling cards.

Ancesserie Letterpress creates elegant and rustic stationery and invitations in Edgefield, SC. Modern stationery and invitations are hand-crafted from the 19th newspaper plates used by their six-generation family newspaper, The Edgefield Advertiser. Their stationery and invitations are hand-crafted in the USA on the finest American paper stock.

Ancesserie comes from the Old French word for ancestry. One day, in recent past,they discovered in the pressroom of their family’s newspaper beautiful letterpress type and engravings once used by their Great and Great-Great-Grandfathers to produce The Edgefield Advertiser. This living community chronicle, the longest running newspaper in South Carolina, has been in their family for 4 generations! Ancesserie’s line of stationery is all handcrafted, inspired by and using much of this early tooling. These images tell a beautiful and lasting American story.

Do you offer returns?

We aim for all our customers to be happy with their order, and do what it takes to make things right.

Do understand though that as most of our products are handmade and not mass produced, there will be some variation in finish, color, or size. But if any product arrives damaged, we will happily replace it. Please send back your return within 14 days of receiving it.
