Craftsman Profile

Smithey Ironware

Isaac Morton started out as a collector of
vintage cookware. Eventually he decided
to apply his knowledge of 19th and early 20th
century cast iron to develop his own line of
pans, but leveraging modern forging technology
to make them lighter, easier to care for, and
machined with a smoother, more “non-stick”
cooking surface. The resulting cookware is
beautiful, functional, and nearly indestructable.

As Seen In...

Here is what the food press has been saying about Smithey

All that weight isn’t for nothing, though: It holds and conducts heat remarkably well, lending the polished skillet incredible searing power. (also) the slippery interior released any stuck-on food with little effort.

Smithey’s cast-iron pan is a champ at searing a steak and earns Very Good scores for baking cornbread. It has a highly polished interior, which the company claims gives it nonstick properties.

Overall, I definitely recommend this pan … for whatever kitchen tasks you perform most often. It gets ripping hot, stays hot, and transfers heat smoothly and reliably to food.
